The Hospital is a 300 bedded acute general tertiary referral Hospital located in the center of the city in North Nazimabad. A large number of patients with common medical and surgical illnesses are treated and all major medical specialties are represented. It is equipped with a wide range of the latest sophisticated diagnostic facilities including MRI, CAT Scan and Radioactive Isotope Imaging techniques, Cardiac Angiography, conventional radiography and a comprehensive pathology laboratory. Qualified faculty is dedicated to clinical teaching, research and health services. Students are encouraged to participate fully in the activities of the clinical teams.

This Hospital has received recognition from Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) for undergraduate, postgraduate and House Jobs training. Additionally, in 1994 the Hospital also received permission from the PMDC to start MD/MS, and diploma programmes. As a result these programmes were launched and candidates after fulfilling appropriate requirements registered for postgraduate training programmes including MS and MD in several disciplines. The Hospital is also recognised by the College of Physicians & Surgeons (CPSP) for Fellowships and Memberships in various disciplines.

The new campus at Clifton, functions as the main teaching learning centre for its Medical College. Development work that is presently being carried out in the Clifton Campus includes university offices, college facilities, and an 80 bedded hospital to be upgraded to 600 beds.
