Student Corner
Univarsal Empire Students Association
The UESA was a concept of the MBBS batch of 2004. It was approved and started in 2006 and its aims are to be the voice of the students of UEIMS. Dealing from hostel to entertainment and sports to academics the UESA was conceived in such a way that all areas of importance are dealt with, in view of the welfare and interest of a student. The UESA acts as the representative of the students of the college which communicates directly with the management and faculty on all relevant affairs. Students may approach the body by mail or direct contact to discuss issues. The UESA is selected on the basis of an election, so, the people included in the body are chosen by you.

The start of our academic year was welcomed by hosting a couple of entertaining events. Firstly, an internal event dubbed “Fuzion 2007” followed by an inter-college competition of sorts under the S. G. Holdings called “Flava 2007”.

  Activities Held in UEIMS Campus

Blood Donation Camp was conducted on the 25th November 2007 in the campus. This event was held in association with Al Wasl Hospital, Dubai, DSSP and Tiffany Foods LTD.

The students of UEIMS took bold step in April 2007 to help to raise AED. 50,000 to help Master Erisszel Cortez who was diagnosed leukemia. With the kind support of DSSP, Dubai Academic City and with the support of the administrative and academic staff, UEIMS students were able to raise AED. 143,000 and handed over to his parents.

A 6-year old boy’s suffering & his cry for help, did not go down very well with my colleague, Tamara Fadhli. After reading about Erriszel Cortez’s struggle against leukemia in The Emirates Today, she came up to me with the suggestion of holding a book fair to raise some money & awareness about his plight. He requires a bone marrow transplant operation worth Dhs 1 million. As medical students at Universal Empire Institute of Medical Sciences, we thought it important to work for such a cause. We decided to not only have a book fair but, a garage sale of various items donated by the students themselves. We started to work on “MISSION CORTEZ”.
